Lara Hill (she/her) joined the Toa team in 2022, most recently coming from B.C.’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport. Prior to that, Lara spent several years based in Ottawa and abroad, working on impactful projects with UN agencies in close to 50 countries managing a national youth-based program that was implemented internationally. In her dream role doing UN field work, Lara gained formative practical community development experiences, a deepening of her cultural sensitivity in stakeholder relations and better understanding of large-scale program cycle requirements and business models.

Lara has worn many hats as a project manager in policy development, as a communications professional and visual storyteller. She earned a Master's degree in International Development from Simon Fraser University (2008), where she investigated how tourism intersects with cultural preservation efforts and economic development in marginalized communities. Her photographic pursuits continue to take her around the world to this day and have been widely published. These experiences culminate to continually inform how she moves through life professionally and personally, focused on meaningful exchanges and collective efforts to serve the greater good.

Lara now considers Victoria, B.C. as her ‘forever home’. She is deeply grateful to paddle, forest bathe, grow things, eat well, hike and swim with loved ones on the bountiful ancestral lands of the Lekwungen speaking peoples.

Sohee Jung (she/her) is an Analyst with the Toa Consulting team. She is attracted to the world of sport and tourism because of the potential of what it can bring to community, to connection and to culture. Originally from South Korea, Sohee recognizes that sport and culture are “universal languages” and how much they can contribute to the fabric of a community.

Prior to her arrival in Canada in 2014, Sohee pursued a degree in Computer Science / Information Engineering in South Korea. Since joining the Toa team, Sohee has demonstrated her strength in connecting information, strategy and operations.
